Ordering, Shipping & Local Pick Up FAQs

How quickly do you ship orders?
We ship most orders within 2 business days. Actual delivery time will vary depending on the carrier and shipping method chosen during checkout.

Can I order online and pick up my order in person?
Yes! We offer free local pickup in East Hampton, CT.
If you select "FREE Pick Up" at checkout, most orders will be ready within 1 to 2 business days. Once your order is ready, we’ll contact you with pickup instructions and available pickup options.

How much does shipping cost?
Orders over $60 ship free (economy). Orders under $60, standard or express shipping are calculated at checkout. See out full Shipping Policy

Can I ship an order directly to the recipient?
Yes. You can enter the recipient’s shipping address at checkout and we'll ship the order directly to them.

Do you include prices in the package?
No. We do not show any order pricing on our packing slips or packaging materials.

What should I do if my package is delayed, lost, or arrives damaged?
Please contact us as soon as possible if there is an issue with delivery or if your order arrives damaged. We will help resolve it quickly.

Personalized Goods FAQs

Which products can be personalized?
We offer personalization on select candles, soap gifts, cutting boards, and other handcrafted goods. Availability varies by product, so the product page will always show the options for that item.

How do I submit personalization details?
Personalization details can be entered on the product page before adding the item to your cart. Please double-check spelling, dates, and punctuation before placing your order.

Can I preview my custom text before ordering?
Yes. While customizing the item, you will see the text entered. We also give the option to approve your customization. If chosen, your design will be emailed within 24 hours and then requires your approval. Once approved, we'll ship your order the next business day.

Can I request a custom label or custom wording?
Yes. If you need something even more custom, please contact us before ordering and we will let you know what is possible.

Can I make changes after placing my order?
If you need to make a change, contact us as soon as possible. We can only update an order if production has not already begun.

Do you offer bulk personalized orders for events or business gifting?
Yes. We can often help with larger orders for weddings, client gifts, events, and other special occasions. Please contact us for details.

Are personalized items returnable?
Because personalized items are made specifically for your order, they are generally not returnable unless there is an error or issue with the item you received.

Where can I browse your scents?

Are your scents non-toxic?
Yes. The scents we use are Made Better™️ Certified - created with ingredients we feel good about using every day—free from dyes, harmful toxins, phthalate-free, and cruelty-free.

Do the same scents come in candles, wax melts, and soap?
Our Signature Scents are available across candles, soaps and wax melts, while our Everyday Comfort Scents are only available in select goods. View all Candle and Soap Scents

Do you offer fresh, cozy, woodsy, floral, and unscented options?
Yes. Our collections include a range of scent directions, including fresh and clean, cozy and gourmand, woodsy and warm, floral, fruity, and unscented options.

Are your unscented goods truly unscented?
Our unscented goods contain no added fragrance.

Do you store unscented items separately?
Yes. We take care to store unscented goods separately from scented goods to help keep them as neutral as possible.

Wood Wick Candle FAQs

What are your candles made from?
Our candles are hand-poured in small batches using coconut soy wax, natural wood wicks, and premium fragrance oils. All our ingredients are phthalate-free, paraben-free, toxin-free, carcinogen-free, mutagen-free, vegan, and cruelty-free.

Are your candles strongly scented?
Our scents are thoughtfully chosen to feel elevated and enjoyable rather than harsh or overpowering. Scent strength can vary a bit by fragrance, room size, and personal preference.

Do your candles use natural wood wicks?
Yes. Our candles are made with natural wood wicks selected for both performance and aesthetic.

How do I light a wood wick candle?
Wood wicks often light best when you tilt the candle slightly and allow the flame to catch across the wick. A long-stem lighter is a great choose.

Why won’t my wood wick stay lit?
Wood wicks perform best when trimmed short before relighting. If too much char is left on the wick, it may struggle to stay lit. Gently remove the burnt edge and relight.

How long should I burn my candle?
The first burn is really important. Allow the wax to melt completely to the edge of the vessel before extinguishing. This usually takes about three hours in our 8 oz tins and 4 hours in our Luxury Glass candles.

How do I trim a wood wick?
Before each burn you want to trim the wick, we recommend using wick trimmers. When trimming, remove any charred wood or loose bits before relighting.

Are your candles non-toxic?

Traditional Cold Process Soap FAQs

What kind of soap do you make?
We make traditional handcrafted cold process soap in small batches.

What ingredients do you use in your soap?
A timeless recipe - olive oil, responsibly-sourced (RSPO) palm oil, and coconut oil — balanced to create the perfect bar. We use only fragrances and essential oils formulated for soap.

Is your soap suitable for daily use?
Yes. Our soaps are made for everyday use and designed to bring a more elevated feel to a daily routine.

How long does a bar of soap last?
Our soap is formulated and cured to be long lasting. Our large 4.5oz bar lasts about 30 full-body washes. All soap will vary depending on how often it is used and how it is stored.

How should I store my soap between uses?
Allow your soap in a dry between uses, ideally on a draining soap dish that allows air to circulate around the bar.

Do you offer unscented soap?
Yes. We offer an unscented soap option for those who prefer no added fragrance.

Are your soaps giftable?
Very much so. Our soaps are popular both for everyday use and for thoughtful, useful gifts.

What is wax melt bark?
Our wax melt bark is a hand-poured coconut soy wax designed for use in wax warmers. It offers a flameless way to enjoy fragrance in your home.

How do I use wax melts?
Place one or more pieces into your wax warmer dish and allow the wax to melt according to your warmer’s instructions.

How much wax melt should I use?
You can use as much or as little as you like depending on your warmer, room size, and scent preference.

Do I need a wax warmer?
Yes. Wax melts are designed to be used with an appropriate wax warmer.

Are wax melts a good alternative to candles?
Yes. They are a great option for customers who want beautiful fragrance without an open flame.

Wood Cutting Board FAQs

What are your cutting boards made from, and will mine look exactly like the photos?
Our cutting boards are handcrafted from real hardwoods, and natural variation in grain, tone, and color is part of what makes each one unique. No two boards will look exactly alike.

Are your cutting boards handmade and meant to be used?
Yes. Our cutting boards are handcrafted with a focus on both beauty and function, making them well suited for food prep, serving, and gifting.

Do you offer engraved cutting boards?
Yes. Select cutting boards can be personalized or engraved. Available options will be shown on the product page.

Can engraved cutting boards still be used?
Yes. Many customers use engraved boards for serving, display, or lighter use, and use the non-engraved side for food prep.

How do I care for my wood cutting board?
Hand wash with mild soap and warm water, then dry promptly. Do not soak, do not place it in the dishwasher, and do not leave it sitting in water.

Should I oil or condition my cutting board?
Yes. Periodic conditioning with our Beeswax Board Butter, to help keep the wood looking its best and supports the life of the board.

Do your cutting boards make good gifts?
Absolutely. They are one of our most lasting and meaningful gift options because they are both useful and beautifully made.

FAQs

How long does a custom project take?
Lead time depends on the size and complexity of the project, the materials involved, and our current schedule. Some projects can move quickly, while others may require a longer timeline, especially if specialty materials need to be sourced or our queue is full.

How much does custom work cost?
Pricing depends on the design, size, complexity, and material choices. Once we understand your project, we can provide a rough estimate and help set clear expectations.

Do you require a down payment?
Yes. Most custom projects require a 50% down payment once the estimated cost has been approved.

Is the down payment refundable?
Yes, for a limited time. If you cancel before design work begins, your down payment is fully refundable. If mockups or design time have already been provided, $50 per hour will be deducted from the refund. Once materials have been purchased or work has begun, the down payment is no longer refundable.
