Maple, cherry, sapele, and walnut are all perfect woods for cutting boards because they’re dense, durable hardwoods with tight grains that naturally resist moisture, bacteria, and warping. Their hardness makes them long-lasting, yet they’re still gentle enough on knives to prevent premature dulling.
